SEPTEMBER CLASSES

Groovy Girls Club - 

9-21, 10-19, 11-16 (Tues) 10am-12pm or 6pm-8pm 

$5.00 per meeting plus cost of kit.  This is a six-month club from Atkinson Designs,  you'll be able to share creative sewing ideas in a fun - and social atmosphere. Each monthly meeting has a fun and exciting theme such as Bag Ladies -Travel or Mom and Me - or how about Groovy Gifts? You can stock your gift closet with projects that are as fun to make as they are to give.  Come join us for fun and games, freebies only for club members and meet new friends. This is a lecture demo class. 

Learn to Serge - Avis Withers - $70.00 + cost of kit $20.00

9-10, 9-17, 9-24 (Fridays) 10am to 1pm

Are you hiding that serger in the closet? Well, here is  the class for you to help you understand and see what a serger can do for you! Understand how the serger works, so you can feel more comfortable using your machine.  This class takes you through the threading and different uses of threads. See what all you can make with your serger including quilts! Makes a great 1/4 inch seam! All makes and models of sergers are welcome! Please be sure to bring your manuals!

There are 3 classes once a week to learn your serger with a small project at the last class to make.

 Limit of six persons for class.

 3 hour classes: 3 classes total

Strip-A-De-Do-Da Quilt - Linda Whisman - $30.00  

9-28, 10-5 (Tuesday) 10am to 1pm.

A quick quilt made with 2 1/2" strips perfect for jelly rolls, bali or cut fat quarters.  Come learn a new twist in making these blocks.  Fast and fun and a great way to make a quilt in a hurry.  You can make 4 blocks in the same time it would have taken you to make one with this quick method. 

Easy Strip Serger Quilt - Avis Withers - $40.00

9-30, 10-14 (Thurs.) 10am to 1pm

Basic serger techniques make this versatile quilt very easy to piece and construct.

Each block is pieced from fabric strips, then the blocks are alternately placed either horizontally or vertically, creating interest and movement in the design. Once the blocks are stitched together to make the center panel, the borders can be added in just a little time. Finishing and binding the quilt are also easily accomplished.

OCTOBER CLASSES

Appliquéd pumpkin kitchen towel - Cherri Boitnott - $15.00 + cost of kit.  10-1 (Friday) 10am-12pm or          10-5 (Tuesday) 6pm to 8pm)

Want to learn to appliqué by hand using the buttonhole stitch, well this class is for you.  Cherri will take you through all the steps while appliquéing a pumpkin just in time for Thanksgiving.

OAK LEAF PLACEMATS - JILL- $15.00  10-1 (Sat) 10am to 12pm

I fell in love with these placemats as soon as I met the designer at a show and she showed them to me.  I know you will love making these too for your table or bar area this fall.

BEGIN TO QUILT - JILL $40.00 - 10-12, 10-26, 11-9 (Tues. 6pm to 8pm)

In this class we will learn basic piecing and sewing to make an Irish Chain quilt.  You will learn how to pick out fabric, rotary cutting, piecing and quilting the quilt.  This is a beginning quilt class and perfect for you if you want to learn the amazing world of quilting.

30-MINUTE TOTE BAG - JILL  $15.00 10-23 (SAT) 10am to 1pm

Want a cool tote bag that takes 30 minutes and has all inside seams finished.  If so, this is the class for you.  Perfect for gifts.  Come join us for all the fun.

SWEATSHIRT CLASS - 10-16 (Sat) 10am to 1pm - $20.00

Come learn how to take a store bought sweat shirt and turn it into a wonderful jacket.  We will show you how to prepare the sweatshirt and how to finish the edges to make a jacket.  You can then add an appliqué to decorate your jacket.  Fun and makes a nice gift.
